I have owned this Tacoma for about 4 years and have loved it.
It is the best Toyota truck I have owned and I have had many.
The only reason for selling is I bought a 4 door to better accommodate my family.
This truck has the TRD (locking rear differential) package and is a 3.
4L V6 with manual transmission/J shift 4x4 and has the factory flip up sunroof, power windows and locks.
It has about a 2.
5" lift.
The AC and Heat both work great as does everything else.
It shifts smooth and drives perfectly.
The 4x4 shifts great and it is a good vehicle in the snow.
I am an aircraft mechanic and I like to work on my own rigs as a hobby.
Here is a list of the work I have performed in the last 4 years/approx.
30K miles:
New Aisin timing belt, water pump, front camshaft seals, radiator flush, spark plugs, ignition coils, valve cover seals, all new fuel injectors (quality Denso with warranty), battery, alternator, air conditioning compressor and evaporator, new front brake pads/rotors, new rear brake shoes, new muffler (exit at rear axle), all four wheel bearings, front CV axles, steering rack and pinion (NAPA), driveline carrier bearing, lower ball joints (Toyota OEM replacements), replaced fuel filter, drained and filled all fluids with synthetic (front axle, transmission, transfer case, rear axle), I just got done installing the brand new OEM set of lower ball joints and replaced the steering bushings with better than OEM poly replacements and then had it aligned at Bend Tire Pros.
The previous owner had the clutch replaced along with the rear main seal at King's Auto in Prineville at 309K miles, I have that paperwork.
The previous owner also said that the heads were replaced at some point but didn't have paperwork.
I think he was correct because I checked the valve lash on the intake/exhaust valves and they match the new specs.
Not everything on the maintenance list was necessary but I was planning on keeping this truck for a long time and I like my vehicles to be reliable.
Full disclosure on its current status: The wheels/tires are from the 4door Tacoma I just picked up and the two rear tires have dissimilar wear because they had them on the front and didn't have the truck aligned correctly.
Tires are fine but probably need to be replaced before the snow flies the end of this year.
The wheels are awesome but I like my others better.
I don't have a skid plat that fits it, I can give you one from a Sequoia and you can modify it or just pick up a junkyard one.
There is a very small oil leak on the back of the engine somewhere, it isn't enough to make a mess on the ground but the bottom of the engine/ transmission stays wet with oil.
If I were keeping it I would change out the front seats with WRX or other economical options.
I had Corbeau seats in it and if you want them I'd put them back in but they are $1600 and I doubt anyone was willing to pay me the extra for them.
The current seats are the seats out of my 2002 Tacoma.
Clean clear title in my name.
I am not interested in trades, cash only.
I don't need help selling it.
Scammers and lowballers will be ignored.
That is it, thanks for reading my novel.
In summation, we have loved having this truck but I don't need two Tacoma's and would love to see this thing be daily driven by another enthusiast (if you aren't an enthusiast yet just buy this and it will quickly turn you into one).
